Defeating Landorus in Pokemon GO Raids

Guide to Defeating Landorus in Pokemon GO Raids

A guide for the Landorus Incarnate Forme raid in Pokemon GO (April 2023): Including the top counters, weaknesses, and additional information.

Pokemon GO has finally introduced a new 5-star Raid Boss, which comes in the form of Landorus, the beloved genie from the Unova region in its Incarnate Forme. While players may feel enthusiastic to acquire one of the most dominant Legendaries in the Pokemon franchise, they may need to conduct extensive research before engaging in a battle against it.

Landorus belongs to the group of four elemental genies that initially made their debut in the fifth generation. Recently, a fourth genie was added to the squad in the Pokemon Legends: Arceus spin-off title, although it has not yet appeared in GO. The current form of Landorus that players can confront is its Incarnate Forme, which it debuted with.

Now the question arises, what should players know about Landorus before trying to challenge it in its 5-star Raid Battles? As Pokemon GO includes multiple factors for each species, it is crucial to learn how to defeat a particular Raid Boss efficiently.

Landorus Raid Boss in Pokemon GO, a powerful flying and ground-type Pokemon

Before challenging a Raid Boss, it is essential to know the creature's elemental typing, which applies to Landorus as well. Landorus is a dual-type Pokemon of Ground and Flying, which is the primary reason behind its remarkable performance in every metagame. However, this type combination also makes it vulnerable to Ice-type attacks.

Incarnate Landorus boasts a well-balanced stat distribution in Pokemon GO, with no evident numerical weaknesses. Its defense is relatively lower than its stamina, so players should focus on bringing counters that possess strong fast attacks instead of prioritizing fast attacks that generate energy. Fortunately, there are several creatures that can fulfill this role.

The ideal candidates for taking down Landorus are those that can withstand its oppressive offensive power. Finding the perfect creature to fulfill this role can be a little challenging since Ice-type creatures are notoriously fragile. However, Mamoswine, the beloved mammoth, is the closest creature that fits the bill, and Galarian Darmanitan is a close second as well.

If players want more offensive options against Landorus, they can consider using Glaceon or Zen-Mode Galarian Darmanitan. However, they should avoid using Weavile due to Landorus' potential access to Focus Blast.

The number of friends needed to defeat Landorus in a raid varies based on each player's skill level and available creatures. As a general rule, a team size of six or more is recommended. Players who don't have friends available for the raid can turn to social media sites to find fellow Pokemon GO players.

Overall, even without its Therian Forme, Landorus can be a challenging opponent, but its weakness to Ice-type attacks can be exploited by using bulky Ice-types like Mamoswine. With careful planning and execution, skilled trainers can take down this powerful Pokemon.
